Freedom to Love, 5-Part Study - Starter Pack
What is Freedom? The world tells us that freedom is the ability to do what you want, whenever you want, with whomever you want. But has this led to strong relationships, strong families, or strong communities? In reality, since the days of the “sexual revolution,” the exact opposite has played out. Every day we see rampant sexual chaos, exploitation, broken families, and a lot of pain - all as a result of an abuse and misunderstanding of “freedom.”
Recognizing the world’s confusion, Saint John Paul II proclaimed the Theology of the Body (TOB) - a profound message of love and human sexuality. He turned the notion of freedom on its head, declaring it to be selfless rather than selfish. He says “freedom exists for the sake of love,” meaning that “Freedom is the means and love is the end.” Therefore, authentic freedom always asks “What is the good of the other person?” not “What’s in it for me?”
In this powerful five-part study for young adults, popular author and presenter Christopher West lays out a convincing and refreshing road map to living a life of freedom. The concepts presented in this study will change everything, including your worldview. Freedom to Love is ideal for college campus and parish young adult ministries.
Freedom to Love addresses critical questions, including:
- What is the Theology of the Body and how can it change my life?
- What does it mean to live a life of freedom?
- What does love look like and how do I live it?
- How can I tell the difference between love and lust?
- What is the problem with pornography?
- Doesn’t contraception make me free?
- Does God have a plan for my future?
This Starter Pack contains everything a facilitator needs to successfully run a Freedom to Love study including:
- 3 DVD Set (5-parts)
- Leader’s Guide
- Student Workbook

Our young adult group is four weeks into this study and it is phenomenal. The messages are so affirming. West draws on his own experience of sexuality and is not at all preachy. Anybody who went to school, looked for love (whether in a committed relationship or in a bar) and still wasn't satisfied will know what West is talking about. He's really funny and breaks out into song, but then the lyrics have a really deep connection to the innermost desires of the heart. We are seeing singles and married couples get a lot of out of this study. I'm buying another copy because so many of my friends--Catholic, Baptist, and of other Christian faiths--want to borrow the discs. When I first saw the series online, the price of 5 CDs seemed a little steep. But the message of how God's love sets us free to love others is such a radical breath of fresh air. This is a totally transformative way of hearing how Jesus loves us and how our bodies are good and beautiful and valuable!

This Program helped me to realize how much God really loves us, even with all of our imperfections. It is just incredible.
